Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park is located on Quadra Island, and is a fine fairly small but quite picturesque park with opportunities for having a picnic, walk a fine short loop trail, sunbathe on a (mostly driftwood-covered) stony beach, or drop an anchor in a mini-harbour.

* All distances past the parking lot are based on a GPS odometer and are approximate.

2. We are on Rebecca Spit Road and are approaching Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park, with We-Wai-Kai campground to our right. This is a good place to camp if you want to do so by the park for a fee. There are also free camping spots along forest service roads elsewhere on Quadra Islands.

3. Just a bit further, there is the entrance to Rebecca Spit Provincial Park. The gate closes overnight - no night camping permitted.

4. Then, there is a very pleasant drive to the main parking lot. There are also several parking spaces along the road. 500 meters from the gate here.

5. Driving through a forest at 900 meters from the entrance gate.

6-7. Arriving to the main parking lot at 1.1 km from the gate.

8. There is a large green field right by the parking lot.

9. A volleyball playing area is about 100 meters away.

10. To the left are several picnic tables next to the harbour.

11. Salish Sea view on the right side.

12. The trail begins 210 meters past the parking lot. It's very easy and pleasant, with Salish Sea views to the right, and then harbour views also to the right on the way back, as it's a loop trail along the spit.

13-14. BC Ferry "Tachek" plain and zoomed views from the trail. Tachek services the Quadra Island - Cortes Island route. Board at Heriot Bay Terminal on Quadra.

15-16. The trail at 590 meters from the parking lot. A bench and Tachek.

17. At 600 meters. Salish Sea to the right, harbour to the left.

18. Looking right at 660 meters from the parking lot.

19. In the forest 200 meters later.

20-21. At 960 meters, we see kayakers floating by.

22-23. Just down the beach from the previous spot there is this green-and-white beacon.

24. Now on the way back we see Drew Harbour. At 1.28 km of the loop trail. Along the harbour is also where the stony beach is located, with much driftwood.

25. At 1.51 km, heading back to the parking lot.

26. Looking right at the 1.56 km mark.

27. The volleyball playing area.

28. A fine hike indeed.

29. Back at the parking lot.

Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park on Quadra Island is small and very pleasant. Highly recommended.
